Summer is on it’s way to India as we can experience a spring season being held down here. Day being hot and nights being cool and bit chilly by dawn. But if you still miss the essence of winter climate in you, then in the southern hemisphere winter is on it’s way and New Zealand is the best spot to spend your time in it.   1. Skiing & Snowboarding – In winter if you are on a highland, then only one thing comes in your mind and that is snow and where there is snow there is a chance to do skiing. New Zealand has many skiing resort and if you are a beginner then there are qualified and professional trainers who would train you and would cater to your demands. Mount Ruapehu is your key destination in the North Island, while popular South Island fields include Cardrona, Mt Hutt and Treble Cone which are located in the Souther Alps.
  2. Cozing up in Hot Springs –  The south islands are filled up with hot spring. Being a place near the Pacific Tectonic Plates it is an area of active volcano zone. Because of such activity present in the country one can easily find a lagoon of hot springs. Take a bath with the hot water made simply by nature and feel the essence of living in Paradise. The South Island’s Hanmer Springs is one of the perfect location to visit after your adventure activity of skiing is completed.
  3. Whale Watching – Animals are always in the habit of migrating from one place to another, infact they move from a colder region to a much warmer location to find food for their living. As summer approaches to wards the Northern Hemisphere the Blue Whales move from the south to the north and in the month of May – June, one can see these majestic whales under the oceans, just like one would like to have a watch of a large whale swimming below the boat from the film “Life of a Pi”.
    Heading to Kaikoura is the best place see such events, however other places to catch sight of the whales include Wellington and Picton.
  4. Celebrating The Maori New Year – The natives of New Zealand celebrate their new year festival in the months of June-July marking during the months of winter. Also known as “Matariki” in their native language. This ancient festival observes the arrival of the Matariki/Pleiades constellation to the southern skies, and thus the end of the harvest season. The people of New Zealand spend most of their time in flying kites during this day.
  5. Watch a Rugby Match –  The national Sport of the country Rugby, is widely played across the country. And Rugby being a winter season game the teams of the country promises every-year to their fans a game that would bring down the teams of the British Isles and teams from various other country. Go and have a watch of one of these games and shout out loud till you are exhausted.

Unleash The Foodie Inside You – If you are a foodie and want to eat out the delicacies of New Zealand, you can go for it with the food festival being held every year especially at the iconic Hawke’s Bay Food and Wine Classic festival is ready to wow visiting food and wine lovers with an incredible assortment of full-bodied reds, the freshest local produce, and lashings of local lamb and venison as you warm up by generous fireplaces.
  7. Milford Sound – Milford Sound is a great place to visit in the colder months. It will be less crowded, meaning you’ll get to fully appreciate the landscapes and unique bird life that come out this season. Some tracks near Routeburn remain open too – just be careful of those slippery surfaces, and remember that daylight won’t be lingering for as long as you’d expect in the summer months.
